5 Cute Ways To Celebrate Spoil Your Dog Day

August 1 2019

Did you know August 10th is Spoil Your Dog Day! Or course, we think our canine pals deserve to be spoiled every day. After all, Fido is not only super cute, he’s also smart, loyal, loving, and affectionate. This is a great chance to make your faithful pet feel loved, and get that cute tail wagging. A Fox Lake, IL vet suggests some ways to spoil your pup in this article.

Homemade Treats

Food is one of Fido’s favorite things ever, along with car rides, belly rubs, toys, and walks. Treat your pet to something special, like some plain, cooked meat, fish, or chicken without the skin, bones, or fat. You can also offer your canine buddy some store-bought doggy treats. If you like cooking, you can make your furry friend’s snacks. You’ll find a ton of great recipes online. (Tip: doggy ice cream, pupsicles, and pupcakes are all very popular with four-legged friends.) Just be sure to use only ingredients that are safe for dogs.

New Bed

A good night’s sleep can make a huge difference for both people and pets. If Fido has more or less squashed his bed, get him a new one. Of course, there’s no law that says our furry companions should only have one bed. Your pooch may appreciate having a few different ones to choose from!

Adventures

Man’s Best Friend is inquisitive and intelligent, and loves exploring new places. Pamper your pup by taking him somewhere fun, like a dog park or a trail. You can also bring your cute pet to a dog-friendly café, and treat him to lunch.

Toys

Toys are both fun and beneficial for our four-legged friends. Fido will probably never grow tired of classic doggy toys, like balls and rope toys. However, your pooch may also like something new, like a mechanical ball launcher. Take time to play with your furry best bud as well.

Love

While all of the things listed above are great, and will definitely help keep your pet happy, Fido’s favorite thing ever is to just hang out with his human friends. Spend some quality time with your pup, and offer lots of belly rubs and ear scritches. This is also a great time to get some adorable dog photos!
