Resolutions Inspired By Pets

January 1 2020

Happy New Year! As we leave 2019 behind and move forward into 2020, many people are focusing on their goals for the coming year. As it turns out, our animal companions can actually be a great source of inspiration when it comes to setting personal goals. Here, a McHenry, IL vet lists some New Year’s resolutions inspired by pets.

Eat Well

One thing we can say for certain about our four-legged friends: they certainly do love food. (Fido may actually be a bit too enthusiastic here, but that’s another topic.) Choose meals that are both healthy and nutritious, and don’t be afraid to indulge in the occasional snack.

Get Lots Of Rest

Dogs and cats are both quite drowsy. Fluffy can sleep up to 20 hours a day, while Fido averages a ‘mere’ 12 or so. Make sure you’re getting enough rest!

Explore!

Our furry pals are quite curious, and love to investigate new things and places. Kitties will immediately inspect anything new they find in their domains, while dogs really enjoy checking out new parks and walking routes. Check out some new places in 2020.

Don’t Worry About What Others Think

Fido and Fluffy aren’t too concerned about whether or not they look silly when they are chasing after a ball or trying to catch that elusive red spot. They’re too busy having fun! Focus on the things that make you happy.

Play

Playing is lots of fun for our furry friends. It’s also great for them physically. Chasing a toy is a terrific workout for both Fido and Fluffy. This is a wonderful inspiration for those who want to focus on fitness this year. Have fun with your workouts!

Enjoy The Simple Things

It doesn’t take much to brighten your pet’s day. Comfy beds, yummy snacks, and new toys are all some of life’s greatest luxuries to Fluffy and Fido. Remember to appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

Show Your Affection

Pets have a special way of filling our lives with love and laughter. They also offer unconditional love, which is a truly beautiful gift, and one that enriches our lives. Our animal companions may not speak our language, but they definitely have some adorable ways of showing us they care. Be affectionate with your loved ones.
